The documentary "Sons of Vardar-Yücelciler", prepared with the contributions of the Presidency for Turks Abroad and Related Communities (YTB), was screened in Skopje, the capital of North Macedonia.

A documentary screening was held to commemorate the “Yücelciler Organization”, which was established during the Yugoslav era to serve and preserve the national and spiritual values of the Turks in Macedonia.

The documentary "Sons of Vardar-Yücelciler", produced with the support of YTB, depicts the tragic fate of the Yücelciler members who were sentenced to death by the Yugoslav administration in 1948 due to their activities. The execution of Şuayb Aziz, Ali Abdurrahman, Nazmi Ömer, and Adem Ali was featured in the film, leading to emotional moments during the screening. The documentary also highlights the severe punishments imposed on other members, who were sent to labor camps, and was shown in commemoration of the 77th anniversary of the executions.

Eren: "They were all educators."

During the event, which was attended by the Turkish Ambassador to Skopje, Fatih Ulusoy, and prominent figures of the Macedonian Turkish community, YTB President Abdullah Eren emphasized that all the executed members of Yücelciler were educators. Stating that the executions were an attempt to suppress Turkish identity in Yugoslavia, Eren continued: "Seventy-seven years ago, while the Yugoslav administration was in power in this region, the Yücelciler group, consisting entirely of educators, was working to spread Turkish and Islamic consciousness, promote Turkish literature, and expand Turkish education. Unfortunately, four members of this dedicated group were executed."

Eren also underlined that the legacy of these martyrs continues in North Macedonia, saying:  "I respectfully commemorate the heroic members of the Yücelciler
Organization and all our martyrs who sacrificed their lives with the same awareness in different parts of the world."

The documentary "Sons of Vardar-Yücelciler" received great appreciation from the audience.
