Türkiye Scholarships Achieves Record with Nearly 200,000 Applications in 2026

The 2026 application process for the Türkiye Scholarships program, which provides international students from all countries of the world with the opportunity to study at undergraduate, graduate, and doctoral levels in Türkiye’s most distinguished universities, has been completed. The program, which received a total of around 10,000 applications in 2012 when it was first implemented, has proven to be one of the most popular educational programs on a global scale by receiving nearly 200,000 applications this year, thanks to Türkiye's multi-dimensional foreign policy and the successful work carried out by YTB worldwide.

​Stating that the evaluation phase has begun following the completion of the application process, YTB President Abdulhadi Turus emphasized that this historic record is a reflection of Türkiye's vision in international education. Sharing important information regarding the process, President Turus noted the following:

​"As of last night, we have completed our Türkiye Scholarships application process. By receiving over 200,000 applications, we have achieved a massive record in the history of Türkiye Scholarships. This figure clearly demonstrates Türkiye’s strong position in international education and the trust placed in our country under the leadership of our President, Mr. Recep Tayyip Erdoğan. Starting from today, our expert colleagues are beginning to meticulously evaluate all applications with great dedication. Following these desk-based reviews, we will go to the candidates' respective countries and conduct face-to-face interviews with them in person. Ultimately, the selected young people will begin their educational lives in our country as new members of the Türkiye Scholarships family."

​Applications to the program undergo a multi-stage and transparent evaluation process, taking into account the candidates' academic backgrounds, social achievements, motivations regarding their relevant fields, and their suitability for the requirements of their preferred programs. Throughout their education, students' participation in social, cultural, and academic activities is also encouraged to support their multi-faceted development.

​The young people who successfully complete their education in Türkiye and join the "Türkiye Alumni" family establish strong bridges of friendship between Türkiye and their own countries through the important roles they undertake across the globe. Contributing on a global scale in many fields from science to diplomacy, and technology to public administration, the graduates accelerate international relations as Türkiye's voluntary ambassadors.
