Türkiye was the Only Country that Truly Welcomed Syria

Syrian Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research Abdulmunim Abdulhafiz: “Türkiye was the only country that truly welcomed Syria”
President of Turks Abroad and Related Communities (YTB) Abdullah Eren met with Syrian Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research Abdulmunim Abdulhafiz in the capital Damascus. During the meeting, where joint studies in the field of higher education were evaluated, Abdulhafiz said that Türkiye is the only country that truly embraces Syria.
President of Turks Abroad and Related Communities (YTB) Abdullah Eren and his accompanying delegation went to Syria and made some contacts. The delegation visited many cities in Syria and met with Syrian Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research Abdulmunim Abdulhafiz in the capital Damascus and evaluated cooperation opportunities. Türkiye Graduate Syrian Deputy Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research Muhammed Suwaid also took part in the visit.
Speaking during the visit, YTB President Abdullah Eren noted that the Syrian people won victory against the regime at the end of the 14-year struggle. Stating that Türkiye is very pleased with this situation, Eren explained YTB's work in the field of higher education. Eren added that YTB is an institution that provides scholarships to international students. Stating that they came to evaluate cooperation opportunities, Eren said, “Thank you for accepting our delegation. First of all, I would like to congratulate you at the beginning of my speech. After, 14 years, the Syrian people won the struggle against the regime. The people of Syria won. You have won. We are delighted about this process that has been going on for two months. We congratulate you again. We are here to offer you our cooperation. "I wish God's mercy to all the Syrians who were martyred and lost their lives," he said.
All Universities in Syria Have Needs
Syrian Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research Mr. Abdulmunim Abdulhafiz stated that Türkiye is the only country that truly embraces Syria, which was under siege. Stating that all universities in Syria have separate needs, Abdulhafiz emphasized that they want to work together on this point. Underlining that responsibilities increased after Syria gained its freedom, Abdulhafiz said, “There is only one country that embraces Syria, which was under siege on all sides, and it is Türkiye. We would like to thank you especially for Türkiye Scholarships. But now, after Syria has been liberated, the responsibility here has increased even more. Here, our needs have increased exponentially, especially the state of the universities, the condition of their infrastructure and the condition of education. All universities have different needs. "At this point, our cooperation with you is very important," he said.
